After months of debating whether or not to relax restrictions and admission criteria, the Indonesian government has finally carried out its intentions, allowing visitors to return to our favorite Indonesian holiday island, Bali.
Here's all you need to know if you're planning a trip to the Island of the Gods.
General requirements for travel in connection to COVID-19 and vaccination regulations:
- To begin, you must have received at least two COVID-19 vaccination doses and an International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate before traveling to Bali. It is advised that you print a copy of your vaccine certificate. Download an electronic version to your smartphone before leaving.
- You must additionally show proof of a COVID-19 (PCR) test performed within 48 hours of your arrival in Indonesia. Children under the age of six, on the other hand, are not required to be vaccinated in order to enter.
- Those who have been vaccinated but have contracted COVID-19 within the last 30 days will need an official document from their doctor stating that they are no longer contagious. If you fall into this group, you will not be needed to undergo a PCR test 48 hours prior to departure, but you will be forced to do so after you are in Indonesia. If the result is positive, you must isolate in a hotel or hospital that the government has designated.

- If you have symptoms when you arrive in Indonesia, you will be required to do a PCR test before proceeding to the airport immigration checkpoint.
- Foreign travelers must have medical insurance that covers COVID-19-related medical and evacuation costs for the time being. If your own medical or travel insurance does not cover this in Indonesia, you can acquire it from Jagawisata, a local insurance branch that is approved throughout the country.
- When entering certain venues and stores in Indonesia, the COVID-19 PeduliLindungi app is required; it's better to download it before leaving.
- Passport holders from ASEAN countries can enter Indonesia without a visa. On arrival in Indonesia, foreigners from 60 nations are eligible for a Visa on Arrival.
- International access is available via Bali (DPS), Jakarta (CGK), Surabaya (SUB), Medan (KNO), Makassar (UPG), Manado (MDC), Yogyakarta (YIA), Batam (BTH), and Lombok (LOM) (LOP).
- You must produce proof of a return or onward flight booking to another country, as well as health insurance coverage supplied by a company incorporated as a legal entity in Indonesia, to obtain a Visa on Arrival at the Bali airport.
- Before traveling, check with your travel operator or an Indonesian Embassy or Consulate for the most up-to-date visa, entrance, and vaccination requirements.
- Masks are still required in public places such as shops, malls, and restaurants (but not at the table when you are eating).
