Markets came off highs in the afternoon trade on Tuesday as investors booked profits at higher levels. Frontline Nifty50 index was up 80 points to trade above 17,750 levels, while the S&P BSE Sensex climbed around 200 points at 59,690 levels.
Sector-wise, Nifty Auto, Nifty FMCG, Nifty Realty were the winners. Nifty Metal and Nifty Energy, however, were bogged down in trade.
Among individual stocks, shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) hit 52-week high of Rs 1,298 per share after the auto major launched five new electric SUVs.
