Brad Pitt allegedly assaulted Angelina Jolie aboard a private jet, according to the plaintiff of an anonymous lawsuit she filed against the FBI.
According to legal filings cited by the US website Puck, the 47-year-old actress claimed that Pitt physically and verbally assaulted her and their son Maddox in 2016. The Pitt team has refuted every charge brought against him.
The allegations that Jolie is behind the case—in which the complainant is referred to as Jane Doe—have not been addressed by Jolie's attorneys. A US district court rejected a plea to completely seal the lawsuit's material in April.
Puck reported that Jolie's attorneys revised the complaint last week and questioned why Pitt, 58, was not charged with any crimes by the FBI agent and the head of the criminal division of the US attorney's office in Los Angeles.
Jolie, who divorced Pitt in 2019, claims in the amended complaint that she learned about this after secretly requesting documents related to the FBI investigation of Pitt.
According to the FBI agent's notes, Pitt allegedly grabbed Jolie by the shoulders and yelled, "You're f***ing up this family."
"Later, during this same flight, another physical altercation allegedly occurred, and Jolie said she had injuries; she handed the agent a photo of her elbow in an attempt to substantiate this," the Puck story, written by a former legal editor of The Hollywood Reporter, continued. Jolie claims that Pitt later spilled beer all over her.
Maddox, then 15 years old, allegedly sought to intercede in the altercation between Jolie and Pitt, and Pitt is accused of hitting or physically restraining him.
Pitt's team explained "He is clear that it did not reach the level of physical violence, that no one was physically harmed," according to People magazine. In no way did he strike his child in the face. He is adamant that he did not do that.
“The persistent denial of that information to Ms Doe - a victim of the assault herself - has hampered, and continues to hamper, her efforts to obtain for her children necessary ongoing care and medical attention, and has further harmed the children in the family law system.”
The custody of Pitt and Jolie's six children, Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, Knox, 14, and Knox's twin Vivienne, has been the subject of protracted legal battles.
After Jolie decided to sell her portion in their vineyard, Pitt recently accused his ex-wife of pressuring him into sharing his French winery with a British millionaire. North of Brignoles in southern France, Pitt is requesting compensation and the revocation of the sale of Jolie's interest in the Chateau de Miraval vineyard.
