After 7 years as a TV host, Trevor Noah is set to leave the stage. The viral announcement shared on Twitter on Thursday revealed the celebrity host declaring that his "time is up" and he won't be wielding any more responsibilities for the popular satirical show.

The 38-year-old made open his gratitude and pride to have anchored the show so far, saying, "... It's been absolutely amazing. It's something that I never expected."

However, Trevor's retirement won't take effect immediately, and the popular host will remain the anchor of the show until a departure date is announced.

The successful South African-born comedian has hosted several television shows, including South Africa’s music, television, and film awards. In 2016, Trevor released his popular book Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood which became an instant bestseller.

He took over the management and anchoring of The Daily Show from Jon Stewart in 2015 and remained a great part of the shoe's success up until today.

While thanking fellow crew members and fans for the "amazing seven years," he added, "I remember when we first started... so many people didn't believe in us," he said. "[Appointing me as host] was a crazy bet to make. I still think it was a crazy choice, this random African.

"I just [find] myself filled with gratitude for the journey. It's been absolutely amazing. It's something that I never expected."

Trevor went on to recount the numerous experiences he had with crew members and the fans, including the Trump presidency and the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I realized that after the seven years, my time is up… But in the most beautiful way,"

"I've loved hosting this show; it's been one of my greatest challenges."

It appears the comedian would be embarking on new adventures as his time at The Daily Show is over.

"I realised there's another part of my life that I want to carry on exploring. I miss learning other languages. I miss going to other countries and putting on shows. I miss just being everywhere and doing everything.

"I'm really grateful to a network who believed in this random comedian nobody knew on this side of the world…

"All I can say is thank you very much."

Dua Lipa and Trevor Spotted Kissing

Rumors of the comedian dating 27-year-old pop singer Dua Lipa have increased as the two were pictured having a romantic time in New York on Wednesday.

Both were seen having a quiet, intimate dinner at a Jamaican restaurant called Miss Lily's in the East Village.

Trevor Noah reportedly split with his partner Minka Kelly in May 2022, while Lipa broke up with her on-and-off boyfriend, Anwer Hadid in December 2021.

Both of them looked simple as they enjoyed their low-key date.
An onlooker that shared details with DailyMail.com said, 'They were quietly sat away from everyone else at restaurant. It was clear they were into each other and sat close together throughout the meal. They left together and walked, stopping for long embraces and on the second kiss with hugs.'
