In the domain of e-commerce, amusing and exasperating incidents occur frequently. You may encounter a delay in delivery from the e-commerce brand, or you might receive an item that is vastly different from what you had ordered.

This time around, an Indian man placed an order at one of the leading e-commerce brands AliExpress, in 2019 with the intention of receiving it at the specified delivery time. However, weeks turned into months, and months turned into a year. The whole of 2019 passed, 2020, 2021, and 2022, and he finally received his package in 2023. In other words, after a whopping 4 years, the Indian man from Delhi received a package he ordered.

After receiving the package on the 21st of June 2023, the man couldn't hide his surprise and excitement, as he immediately took to Twitter to tell the world his story.

He posted a picture of the parcel containing the delivery date, saying, "Never lose hope! So, I ordered this from AliExpress (now banned in India) back in 2019, and the parcel was delivered today."

The tweet has garnered a lot of attention as more than 1 thousand people have liked it, and thousands have viewed the tweet itself. Many of those engaging in the tweet shared how it is common for AliExpress to take time, and sometimes you might not even get your order again.

Many of those who engaged in the tweet were quite nostalgic about their experience on the e-commerce platform. One of them said, "You’ll remember Aliexpress?😆 the delivery was always a hit or miss but refunds were provided."

Apparently, many of those who commented pointed out that AliExpress refunds were the only compensation they ever received after months or sometimes years of waiting for their package.

Many Don't Receive Their Package After Ordering From AliExpress

According to a few other replies under the original tweet, it seems a lot of people don't even receive AliExpress refunds or their package after placing an order.

One of the Twitter users who engaged with the tweet shared how they made an order on the platform in 2018, and they haven't received it to date. "I ordered my order from AliExpress back in 2018, it’s not been delivered yet .let’s see if I am that lucky," the Twitter user said.

"I have 3 such orders pending since 2019😂 problem is...I have my old address mentioned in the delivery. Looks like someone else is going to get free goodies," another user said.

AliExpress Banned In India

In addition to facing delivery problems, AliExpress also received a ban from India in 2020 due to numerous inconsistencies associated with the online retail platform. It is worth noting that 47 other Chinese apps were also at risk of being blocked by India during that same year.

AliExpress is a popular shopping platform that offers unique products not commonly found on other platforms. They feature brands that are not typically available on Amazon. However, one downside is their reputation for delayed deliveries, and there have been reports of counterfeit products being sold. It's worth noting that India is not the only country to take action against AliExpress, as the U.S. Trade Representative's office also banned the online retailer in 2022.
