Twitter owner Elon Musk and the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, have both agreed to stage a fight and mark their boundaries in a cage fight.
The tech moguls made use of their respective social media platforms, Instagram and Twitter, to talk up their battle readiness, and both parties since spoken to mixed martial arts supremo Dana White
It all started when Twitter owner and Tesla CEO Musk recently tweeted that he would be up for a cage fight with the CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg.
Elon Musk, who bought Twitter for $44 billion last year and has frequently been posting jokes and provocative tweets since then, responded to a tweet about a potential competing service by Meta, run by Mark Zuckerberg, this week by saying, “I’m up for a cage match if he is.”
Zuckerberg retaliated back by posting a screenshot of Musk’s tweet on Instagram, overlaid with the caption: “Send Me Location.”
Musk responded to a tweet about the fight by Alex Heath the editor of the tech news website Verge. He replied; “I have this great move that I call ‘The Walrus,’ where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing,”

A user seriously warned Elon to please reconsider the fight stating, "Mark has won medals in a jiu-jitsu tournament. You have a slim chance to beat him without training or being fully conditioned. Mark will perform his jiu-jitsu submission easily, he's been training for a while and is good at it., I'm concerned, please reconsider."
The one who would win in a cage fight quite remains to be seen. Musk is physically bigger than Zuckerberg, but the Meta CEO practices jiu-jitsu, the Brazilian martial art, and has won gold and silver in a tournament in May.
They Both Have An History
The two moguls have a history of butting heads over big topics in their industry. In 2014 Mark Zuckerberg invited Elon Musk to a dinner at his home to try to convince him that he was too pessimistic about the threats of artificial intelligence (AI). However, Mr. Musk did not change his mind. Instead, he continued to warn of the dangers of A.I. Mr.Musk also said that Instagram makes people depressed and that Facebook, also owned by Meta, “gives me the creeps."
Speaking to TMZ Live, the UFC president said a Mark Zuckerberg vs Elon Musk fight would even surpass the revenue and viewership amassed in a 2017 boxing spectacle between Colin McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, which 50 million people watched in the US alone.
Dan White, who revealed he spoke to the pair, said, "There's no limit on what this thing can make."
Katy Cook, author of ‘The Psychology of Silicon Valley,’ quipped that tech leaders have been known to embrace conflict in public forums more than in other sectors.
“When you reach a taste of power through some of those ways of behaving, it tastes good for a lot of people,” Ms. Cook said.
