It is official. After removing the legendary bird logo, Twitter has put some more finishing touches to its rebranding. Since the creation of the platform, the bird logo has been the most iconic logo among many social media platforms. But since Elon Musk took over the platform, it has undergone several changes ranging from the layoffs to the rebranding.

Previously, Elon Musk renamed the parent company of Twitter to X Corp. Well. The billionaire admitted that the letter X is his favorite alphabet. Elon Musk announced the change over the weekend, which is already live on their website.

Taking a step back, Elon Musk Twitter rename is said to change the overall purpose of the platform. Perhaps, The company's CEO Linda Yaccarino has a better description of the evolution of Twitter into X.

Twitter's CEO Announces Twitter Rebranding

The company's CEO, Linda Yaccarino, took over the platform shortly after Elon Musk said he would no longer be the CEO of the social media platform at the end of 2023. But the move came earlier. Although she is the CEO, Elon Musk still calls most of the shots on the platform.

Nevertheless, she took her time to explain what the Twitter X rebrand is all about. Apparently, Twitter is trying to move on as just a social media platform. They want to incorporate other services, such as payments and banking services. Do you know how Facebook rebranded to Meta and started developing the Metaverse? According to the CEO, that's precisely similar to Elon Musk Twitter's rename.

"It's an exceptionally rare thing – in life or business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square."

"X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we're just beginning to imagine," Yaccarino said on Twitter.

Elon Musk's Love for X — A Lifelong Journey

Although Twitter's rebranding and logo change attracted major attention, Elon Musk's love for the letter didn't start today. Even those following the tech billionaire have seen him talk several times about the letter X.

When he newly took over Twitter, he made his plan to change the platform to X, the Everything App. His recent changes to Twitter are just a manifestation of his initial plans.

Elon Musk's obsession with X can be traced back to 1997 when he founded X.com, and this company grew to become what we know today as PayPal. A look at his other companies shows similar things.

There is an interesting coincidence between SpaceX, a space company, and X.ai, an AI startup, as both companies have the same alphabet in their names. In April of this year, the CEO of Twitter Inc., who also owns X Corp, officially changed the legal name of the platform to X Corp. This is not the first time the CEO has made changes to the platform since taking over, as he once changed the logo to that of Dogecoin, which caused a significant surge in the price of the cryptocurrency.
