On Wednesday, the court filed an order stating that Petty should undertake a 120-day house arrest after he was caught threatening the husband of popular female rapper Cardi B in the company of another individual who already had a criminal record.
Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, has earlier been placed on a three-year probation in the seventh month of 2022 after pleading guilty and failing to register as a s3x offender in California in 2020. Kenneth was arrested and jailed for attempting r*pe and posting a video clip that suggests the Migos rapper was his target.
The video footage that went viral showed Kenneth in the company of some entourage right outside a hotel where Cardi B's Husband, Offset, was staying in New York.
Keneth threatened Offset with his words. Amongst his words, he said: "You plan that vacation, and you'll be planning your funeral".
Kennth's remark is said to have violated his probation of three years which commenced in July 2022. But Offset dismissed the threat in a video he shared on his social account with the caption: "I'm getting off a jet now, he's just funny".
Earlier in 1995, Kenneth Petty was convicted for attempting to murder a 16-year-old girl in New York and was ordered by the court to register as a s3x offender, but he refused.
He later relocated to California after he married Nicki Minaj in 2019. The couple had a son (Papa Bear) in September 2020. But Kenneth did not register his new home state, which earned him a one-year home detention and probation of three years.
Kenneth Petty's r*pe victim then filed a lawsuit against him and Nicki Minaj. But Nicki Minaj tried to defend her husband as she shared a post on her timeline saying, "The girl was 16, he was 15 and they were both in a relationship. But the internet go awful, you all can never run my life and you can't even run your own lives".
The court stated that Kenneth's recent conduct has raised concern about his willingness to follow court orders, and placing him under house arrest with a monitoring program will aid in the closer monitoring of his activities. And this might encourage Kenneth to rethink his actions and evaluate his status in society.
It was reported that Cardi B and Nicki Minaj have had a petty disagreement over the years, both in person and on the Internet. The female rappers got into a fight in 2018 at the Bazaar ICON event.
Kenneth Petty and Nicki Minaj both attended the same high school but lost touch with each other before reconnecting back in 2018. They made the relationship legal when they tied the knot in September 2019. One year after the union, the marriage was blessed with a son on the 30th of September 2022.
