The richest person in the world is considering charging those with a verification tick on Twitter $20 a month after completing his Twitter takeover.

There have been several expectations since Elon Musk became the new Twitter owner, from firing the CEO and CFO of the company to the verification badge issue. All this has been the bid of Elon Musk to overhaul the social media platform and turn it into "free speech" media.

According to those who have good knowledge about the matter, it looks like the Tesla CEO will be looking forward to increasing the price of the blue tick from $4.99 a month to $19.99. Since the platform's inception, those who carry a Twitter verification tick are considered trusted sources.

Elon Musk has not directly commented about the recent developments but said that the whole verification process on Twitter is being revamped. He had tweeted under another person's post, "The whole verification process is being revamped right now."

According to what the verge said, Elon Musk  Twitter was forcing employees to work on the new verification plan or face the risk of being sacked.

Twitter is a social media platform with more than 400,000 verified users, and it was introduced in 2009 after celebrities started complaining of impersonation.

However, the verification tick has grown from being a normal verification symbol to becoming a celebrity symbol. Those with verification ticks on their profiles are often regarded as celebrities.

Even if Elon Musk should go on and implement the $20 per month verification tick, the data there has shown that more is needed to generate enough revenue. Elon Musk is due to pay about $1 billion in interest for the loans he took to purchase the platform.

Elon Musk Twitter Takeover Generates reactions.

There has been a serious buzz on social media platforms after the Tesla CEO completed the ever-anticipated deal of the year.

The reactions after Elon Musk took over Twitter have been massive; some people say they are leaving the platform since he took over, and some are happy he completed the deal.

A user on the platform named Philip Lewis called out Elon Musk on the 29th of October 2022, saying that the number of N-word usage has increased on the social media platform.

In the original tweet, Philip Lewis said, "Elon Musk Twitter takeover sparked a surge in the use of the N-word on the social media platform. A social media research group told the Washington Post the use of the slur increased by nearly 500%."

After this user made this tweet, it generated a lot of concerns, with different personalities and celebrities lending their voice on the matter.

Famous basketball player LeBron James said that if the data was true, Elon Musk had to look into what was happening on the platform.

"I don't know Elon Musk and, tbh, I could care less who owns Twitter. But I will say if this is true, I hope he and his people take this very seriously because this is scary AF. So many damn unfit people saying hate speech is free speech," LeBron James tweeted.
