Ukraine is poised to get more than just leopard tanks from its western Allies. New reports show that discussions are ongoing between Ukraine and its western allies for the shipment of leopard tanks and other sophisticated weapons.

In a meeting held last Friday, there were discussions with German officials about the supply of Leopard 2 tanks to the Ukrainian forces. However, no agreement has been reached yet concerning the supply of the Leopard 2 tanks. Germany has not permitted countries with such tanks to supply them to Ukraine

But apart from the leopard 2 tanks, there are reports from the BBC that Ukraine will and has been receiving several reinforcements from the United States and other western allies. After a meeting of the allies at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, a top general from the US said that Ukraine should refrain from mounting any offensive against Russia now pending when all the military reinforcements are delivered.

U.S. General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said at a news conference that it is still hard for Ukraine to drive all Russian forces out of the country. "From a military standpoint, I still maintain that for this year, it would be very, very difficult to militarily eject the Russian forces from every inch of Russian-occupied Ukraine," General Mark Milley said in the press conference.

Germany is being pressured into accepting to deliver their leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine as quickly as possible. However, the latest Ukraine news shows that Germany is taking its time before making any decisions. Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleskii Reznikov said after the meeting that the country would continue "frank discussions" about the leopard 2 tanks in the coming days.

What Weapons Are Ukraine Receiving?

Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, the Ukrainians have managed to push the Russians from taking overall control over their territory. Supplying the Ukraine forces with more weapons meant that Ukraine tightened its grip against letting its country fall under the control of Russia.

For the first time in a long time in the Russia-Ukraine war, the country is making some offensives against their attackers. From a report coming from the BBC, Ukraine will get more than just the leopard 2 tanks from its western allies. The US has sent many ground and air weapons to strengthen the Ukrainian forces.

After Ukraine's president Zelensky requested more battle tanks to challenge the Russian forces, the UK agreed to provide 14 Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine. The United States has also promised to send some of the challenger tanks to the country. Many western leaders believe that Russian forces are currently in a weak position and that providing these weapons now to Ukraine might be strategic for the war.

Combat vehicles are also part of the weapons to be sent to Ukraine. In the latest Ukraine news, the United States announced it was sending 90 Strykers to the embattled country. Air defence systems are also left out as the US will send M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System or Himars to Ukraine.
