Have you ever had a song stuck in your head but couldn't remember the name or artist? It's super frustrating when that happens.

You might try humming it to friends, but they don't recognize it either. Well, YouTube Music has just added a really cool new feature that can identify songs just by you humming or singing them!

Here's How It Works

The YouTube Music app on Andriod now lets you search for songs by humming, singing, or playing a tune.

This new feature uses artificial intelligence (AI) to match your melody with the correct song, similar to the Google app.

Here's how to use it:

  • Update Your App: Make sure you have the latest version of the YouTube Music app (version 7.02 or newer).
  • Look for the Wave Icon: Open the app and tap the search icon. Next to the microphone, you'll see a new wave icon. Tap this icon.
  • Hum or Sing: A colorful screen will pop up, asking you to hum, sing, or play a tune. The AI will listen and try to find the matching song.

Once it identifies the song, you'll see the album cover, song title, artist name, release year, and a play button to listen to the song right away.

You can also save the song to a playlist, thanks to YouTube Music's new features.

Why It's So Cool

This feature makes the YouTube Music app way more useful. Imagine identifying any song you hear just by humming it into your phone! It's like having a music expert in your pocket, which is amazing.

For instance, you could be at a cafe and hear a catchy tune playing, and instead of asking the staff, which might be embarrassing, you just hum a bit into your phone. Boom, the YouTube Music app, tells you the song name and artist. This is an awesome feature.

Google App vs YouTube Music

Google's main app has had a similar humming feature for a while, but having it built into the YouTube Music app makes way more sense for music lovers. Using a music app to find new music is more convenient.

YouTube Music's new song ID feature is an awesome addition that makes the app even better for discovering new tunes.

Whether you're a casual listener or a total music junkie, being able to find songs just by humming is incredibly handy.

This new feature might drive a lot of users to download the YouTube Music app and start listening to their favorite songs, humming songs, or adding them to their playlists.
