The United States president, Joe Biden, has declared that the Covid-19 pandemic is over in the US.
In an interview session with CBS 60 Minutes, Biden commented that the worldwide pandemic has ended in the United States. President Joe Biden said in the 60 Minutes interview, "we're still doing a lot of work on it. But the pandemic is over".
However, the president's statement doesn't seem to go down well with several organizations in the nation who consider it very contradictory.
A statement made by a top White House Covid-19 official, Dr. Ashish Jha, claims that the pandemic isn't over. According to Dr. Ashish Jha on September 6, "the pandemic isn't over. And we will remain vigilant, and of course, we will continue to look for and prepare for unforeseen twists and turns".
The effects of the Covid-19 pandemic are still felt every day in the US, with approximately 400 deaths daily. With close to 400 Covid-19 deaths daily, more than 30,000 people are still hospitalized because of the virus.
Federal Health Workers still consider the virus far from being over, although they acknowledge that the nation has made much progress in combating it.
