The Miss World Organisation has declared that India would be the host country for the 71st Miss World Final. This marks a triumphant return after a gap of almost three decades.
The prestigious beauty pageant was last held in India in 1996, As reported by Hindustan Times. The event will gather contestants from over 130 countries to showcase their unique talents, compassion, and intelligence through a series of rigorous competitions.
The announcement came as a surprise as it came a few months after the confirmation of the United Arab Emirates as the host of the Miss World 2023 pageant event. However, the change in plans has brought the esteemed event back to the culturally vibrant land of India.

Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organisation, Julia Morley, expressed her pleasure at the decision.
"I am delighted to announce that India is the new home of the 71st Miss World Final! I have always had a great affection for India from the first moment I visited this incredible country over 30 years ago! We cannot wait to share your diverse and unique culture, breathtaking locations, and world-class attractions with the rest of the world," she said.
Chairman of PME, Jamil Saidi, also pointed out the significance of India as the host country, saying, "The 71st Miss World Festival is the most deserving country to showcase this magnificent event. It enables representatives from 130 countries to come and experience incredible India! He concluded; We cannot wait to share your unique and diverse culture, breathtaking locations, and world-class attractions with the rest of the world."
Karolina Bielawska, the current Miss World, took the time to share her excitement about the upcoming event. In a statement, she emphasized the progressive spirit of India.
"India prepares to welcome the world with open arms at the 71st Miss World 2023 to showcase the country's beauty, grace, and progressive spirit. Join us in celebrating the power of women to make a difference as we embark on this remarkable journey together," Bielawska said.
India has a remarkable record in the Miss World competition, with Reita Faria becoming the first-ever Miss World from India in 1966. Other notable Indian winners include Manushi Chillar (2017), Priyanka Chopra (2000), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Diana Hayden (1997), and Aishwarya Rai(1994).
The reigning Miss India World 2022, Sini Shetty, will proudly represent India in the Miss World 2023 contest and boldly showcase the country's beauty and talent globally.
The exact date for India Miss World 2023 beauty pageant grand finale is yet to be announced, but it is expected to occur in November or December this year.
